Quantcast is looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Cloud Infrastructure team based in our San Francisco, CA Headquarters office.

As a Senior Engineering Manager at Quantcast, you’ll lead a fast-paced and high-velocity team that’s always using state-of-the-art technology. Their focus is always on automation, infrastructure performance improvements, security, and solving complex challenges that span multiple groups in Engineering. 

The team owns the management of the fundamental infrastructure components that all other Engineering teams at Quantcast leverage to build our products and services. This includes secure access into the compute platform, cloud and on-prem services, cloud provisioning, and the networking stack. The ideal candidate will understand how to align the roadmap of a cloud infrastructure team with a customer focused company, and bring demonstrated expertise in managing and developing talented engineers in a technically demanding area. Reliability, efficiency, and cost control are all key to team success!

Responsibilities:

• Ability to work on several large projects with multiple dependencies across teams
• Mentor and develop the members of your team from both a technical and soft skill perspective
• Strengthen engineering process, principles, and culture within your team and across the organization by championing a culture of learning, continuous improvement, and blameless retrospection
• Own the long term technical vision and roadmap for our cloud infrastructure across multiple cloud providers, global regions, and physical data centers 
• Track record in partnering with recruiting to build engineering teams 
• Make the right trade-off choices when dealing with functional complexity, conflicting priorities, and conflicting schedules
• Represent the team and remove hurdles so that each one of the team members operates at the highest level of efficiency and productivity

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of engineering experience, and demonstrated experience developing technically strong teams
• Knowledge of secure coding practices, compliance, open-source technologies and frameworks 
• Experience with effectively creating alignments between teams and operating well in ambiguity 
• Technical expertise with infrastructure as code, networking, data centers, and infrastructure security 
• Understanding of AWS cloud fundamental building blocks; observability, secrets management, audit and tagging, secure coding practices, and compliance
• Bachelor’s or higher degree (We recognize that knowledge and skills equivalent to those earned in a degree program can also be achieved via nontraditional paths, and welcomes applicants with nontraditional training.)

The model gives employees the opportunity to work from home two days a week and work in the office for team collaboration for the remainder of the time.
