Title: Senior Manager of Engineering, Processing Platform

Duties: The Senior Managers of Engineering, Processing Platform (multiple positions open) at Chime Financial, Inc. in San Francisco, California will build and scale a new underlying technology platform for core banking to support current and future product offerings. This role is charged with building secure, reliable banking platform and transaction processing software; building a world-class engineering organization with a focus on: building an exemplary team culture and helping to build a business that measurably improves the mobile banking experience for tens of millions of consumers. The specific job duties include: Lead the recruitment, professional development, and retention of a high-performing engineering team. Launch a new team responsible for building the software that underpins Chime’s current products. Provide technical guidance that scales for rapid growth; and partner effectively with recruiting to hire distinguished individual contributors. Ensure that the team delivers secure, reliable, and high-performance software and APIs for the rest of Chime engineering to consume. Set ambitious timelines for development and ship on time. Responsible for the security of the software to prevent breaches and neutralize attacks. 

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a directly related field plus 8 years of experience architecting high scale distributed systems. The 8 years of experience must include 5 years of experience with each of the following: (1) established engineering rigor while delivering consumer software platforms and applications; (2) large scale distributed systems, distributed platforms and large-scale cloud computing frameworks; (3) technology stacks, including Go, Java, Scala, Node, and Python for highly scalable and available platforms, Cloud Computing, including AWS, and DevOps; (4) Experience with Financial Payments and Payment platforms and (5) experience with Mobile app technologies.
