While rebuilding the e-commerce infrastructure, security is right front and center. The Security Engineering team believes in doing more with less through partnership and automation. The team is responsible for empowering our product engineering teams to own security and privacy by documenting and evangelizing secure, private application development best practices. In addition, where needed the security team will utilize 3rd party tools or design, develop, and implement internal ones. 

You'll

  • Champion privacy practices across the organization and influence privacy engineering strategy and system design
  • Bring new ideas, designs, and tools to the table, drive technical discussions and decision making related to the development and technology stack.
  • Build scalable privacy oriented platform services and libraries
  • Research the latest trends in anonymization and report on evaluations and make recommendations for improvements
  • Ensure that we always treat consumer’s data respectfully, with transparency and inline with industry best practices

Requirements:

  • 8+ years of engineering experience with 3+ years as a Privacy engineer
  • Exceptional engineering skills and experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications.
  • Using the tools at your disposal detect, identify and troubleshoot privacy violation events
  • Ability to effectively work with and contribute to a close-knit team while also being a self-starter are critical to success
  • Organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple reviews and tasks at the same time are essential
  • Ability to communicate with upper management/executive level, lawyers, Information security and non-IT colleagues as well as Third party contacts is a must
  • Ability to work autonomously in a fast paced, cross-functional environment, and comfort with ambiguity
