Quantcast is hiring a Senior Security Engineer to be part of the Security Engineering team in our San Francisco office.


At Quantcast, we see the real-time pulse of the open Internet and we use technology to help brands and publishers understand, reach and influence the constantly-changing behaviors of consumers. We operate some of the largest custom-developed data processing infrastructure in the world, storing and processing tens of petabytes of data daily. 


The mission of the Security Engineering team is to protect the system and services built and operated by Quantcast Engineering from both external and internal actors, in order to safeguard the business and our customer’s privacy.


In this role, you will report into the head of security, supporting the development, implementation, and testing of our information services security architecture. You will operate at multiple levels within the organization leading and participating in security operations, projects, risk assessments, incident response, and policy creation and maintenance. You will work closely with engineering teams to help design, development and delivery on product objectives and have the ability to help drive foundational changes to enhance our security posture. 




Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that our software and systems are designed and implemented to the highest security standards
  • Drive security operational excellence through automation, monitoring, and incident analysis
  • Work across the Engineering organization to drive security initiatives that will strengthen our security posture
  • Provide technical feedback into security roadmaps
  • Actively identify, investigate, and respond to security threats and incidents related to systems and workflow to ensure internal security controls are appropriate and operating as intended within the organization
  • Manage security integration into the SDLC process and into CI/CD pipelines
  • Support customer facing interactions, security evaluations of external vendors, and respond to client’s security and audit questionnaires as needed
  • Evangelize security/compliance initiatives and engage with operations and development teams to ensure adherence to security policy guidelines and compliance standards
  • Research and implement potential new security controls and determine their effectiveness
  • Assist in efforts related to obtaining security certifications (e.g. ISO, SOC II, PCI, etc.)Support penetration testing and vulnerability initiatives throughout the organization

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related security field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience working with Linux systems is a must
  • Experience in compliance standards (HIPAA, NIST, SOC, ISO, and PCI) is a big plus
  • Track record of driving operational excellence
  • Organized, detail-oriented and excellent written communication and documentation skills
  • Strong foundation in core information security principles and concepts (HTTPS, TLS, OAuth, etc.)Cloud infrastructure experience (AWS)

The model gives employees the opportunity to work from home two days a week and work in the office for team collaboration for the remainder of the time.
