About the Role
The Infrastructure Engineer will act as our authority on implementing DevOps methodologies, building tools and services to allow application teams and others to self-service, and drive cross-team communications to ensure we ship stable and performant services. Our ideal candidate is confident in their ability to dive in, troubleshoot, and tackle infrastructure problems head-on, coupled with an insatiable drive to excel and a hunger to learn.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate across teams to consolidate DevOps tools and services, supporting other engineers during production
- Maintain Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) workflows to help deliver software of higher quality at greater speed
- Maintain and support Chime’s cloud and container orchestration infrastructure
- Maintain and support Chime’s monitoring and logging infrastructure
- Implement and monitor security measures for the protection of systems, networks, and critical data
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a SRE or production operations engineering role, supporting public facing web services
- 2+ years experience with AWS services such as EC2, RDS, Elasticache, Elasticsearch, IAM roles and policies, VPCs, S3, Athena, and Cloudwatch
- 2+ experience with Terraform or equivalent orchestration framework
- Experience working with Docker and docker-compose
- Working experience with Python and one other language (pref Go)
- Demonstrable cross-functional knowledge with systems, storage, networking, security and databases
- Experience with EFK/ELK stacks
- Experience with AWS Lambda
- Experience with Hashicorp Vault
- A distaste for Emacs
