We are hiring for a Senior Software Engineer on our Experimentation and Product Discovery team. This team works on every new user facing feature across our Fanatics e-commerce site. This is the testing ground for change that would be regularly seen and used by millions of people! We are looking for individuals with an eye for detail, passion for user experience, appreciation for clean code, and interest in learning.

About the job:

On this team your primary responsibilities will be the architecture, design, and implementation of distributed software solutions in a highly available cloud environment. This is a rare opportunity to be on a team that works on every new user facing feature across our Fanatics e-commerce site! You will get to be very hands-on with JavaScript technologies (among other cool tech), work with talented product managers to achieve business goals and creative objectives, learn new technologies, and find opportunities to experiment with and improve features on our site.

What may make you an excellent match?

• 5+ years of experience building scalable applications and web experiences using JavaScript or TypeScript
• Expertise with common JS libraries & tooling such as React, Angular, Vue, Koa/Express, Webpack etc
• Demonstrated success in building scalable APIs in a microservices environment
• Experience shipping high quality products end to end, from design to execution
• Diligence in delivering performant, accessible, reliable, and secure user experiences
• A passion for high quality written and verbal technical communication
• A strong bias for making things happen and a love for teamwork and collaboration in addressing problems.
• Expertise in debugging, able to connect distributed logging into a coherent understanding
• Experience working with Agile development methodologies and software development lifecycles

Bonus Points:

• Experience with an additional language, such as Java, Go, Rust, .NET
• Experience working in an e-commerce or direct to consumer retail environment
• Hands-on experience with Open-Source projects
• Hands-on experience in the Cloud; specifically AWS
• Knowledge and experience of continuous delivery, including automated testing of various layers etc.
• Knowledge and experience of relational and NOSQL Databases
• Be a domain specialist. For example, performance, design systems, monitoring & logging, build tooling.
• Find opportunities to clean, refactor and optimize the codebase.
• Strong development experience with HTTP/RESTful APIs, Microservices
• Experience working with NoSQL technologies like Cassandra, Kafka
• Exposure to container technologies, like docker/kubernetes
