Job Description

We are the Structured Data team. Our team mission is to enrich and optimize product data for business operations, buyers, and sellers. As a member of the team, you will play a key role in building the structured product data in Wish. To produce accurate and descriptive product data, you will solve technical problems in distributed systems, scalability, availability, scale computing, data mining, machine learning, and optimization. There is a lot of new software development with evolving business problems not seen in other e-commerce companies.

We are looking for a highly motivated collaborative engineer to work hard and have fun solving both technical and business problems with the team.

What you'll be doing:

  • Become familiar with the technical stack: gRPC, Golang, GraphQL, MongoDB, MySQL, Elasticsearch, and Kafka

  • Write technical design documents, go through committee design reviews, devise implementation plans, and execute

  • Work with other orgs/teams to define API contracts and responsibilities

  • Do the necessary to make our products better whenever you see an opportunity

  • Communicate and suggest new ideas and designs in both written and verbal formats

Qualifications

  • 4 + years of experience in contributing to the architecture and design of new and existing systems

  • Experience working with both relational and documented oriented datastores such as Postgresql, MySql, MariaDB, Cassandra, MongoDB, HBase, etc

  • Solid foundation in computer science, math and/or software engineering

  • Strong competencies in data structures, algorithms and software design

  • Self-motivated, hands-on, relentlessly focused on impact, and able to operate under a great deal of independence

  • Great written and verbal communication skills
