We build and operate long-range, high-payload drones for commercial, defense, and humanitarian applications. Leveraging drone technology as a transportation method, we help our customers gain control of their supply chain and save millions of dollars on downtime and inventory costs. Our work came from the immediate need for critical delivery of parts to drastically reduce downtime for an automotive company. From this idea, our founders have scaled the company into a team of highly skilled and motivated individuals to serve critical delivery markets.

Our software powers our drones. We have several systems that work together to plan missions, control our drones, and process the data collected from them. It is crucial that these systems are bug free while still retaining high development velocity and change speed. Working in an agile environment, you’ll help to facilitate this -- it’s vitally important that we develop automation around our software testing. This role will be responsible for implementing and owning those QA systems. This is a critical role with tremendous growth potential! This position will report to Director of Software Engineering.

What you will do:

• Ensure the quality and reliability of our software products by implementing QA automation that runs at check-in, in a CI/CD environment
• Create test plans, working from pragmatic manual approaches to fully automated systems that run on each build
• Design automated integration test suites that automate web-based applications and ensure correctness using the latest best practices
• Monitor and track bug reports, communicate to stakeholders (internal and external) and pursue both short term and longer term fixes
• Track and maintain metrics and key KPI’s for software reliability
• Fully participate in the software engineering sprint with an eye toward software testing & quality
• Be the voice of writing code for testability within the software team
• Implement static analyzing and code linting tools, maintain pre-commit and post-commit hooks on repo’s

Required:

• B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, engineering or related field, or equivalent experience with 5+ years of experience
• Domain expertise in web application QA testing with complex applications
• Experience in one or more QA Testing browser automation tools such as Selenium Web Driver, Capybara, Cucumber, Webdriver.io, Spectron, etc.

Desired:

• Passionate about Software QA Automation and its power to transform organizations
• Experience with Electron, QT and other cross-platform toolkits
• Experience in RUM (real user metrics) and the browser performance, page timing API’s, network applications
• Experience writing automated tests for graphical, map-based and data-driven applications with high degree of interactivity
• Proficient in one or more programming languages
• Experience working in an environment where software QA automation runs across multiple platforms (emulated or real devices)
