About Your Role

The Senior Systems Engineer (Planning) is responsible for leading the validation of Ike’s motion planning and prediction systems, as well as supporting validation across our autonomy stack.

About Your Work

  • Drive motion planning requirements using simulation, sensitivity, and data analyses, including requirement decomposition and allocation; first-principles analysis of vehicle motion/dynamics to derive relevant requirements
  • Develop algorithms to measure motion planning performance and drive planning/prediction verification and validation, including scalable validation software
  • Work directly with the motion planning team to investigate validation failures
  • Support the Systems team to derive vehicle-level behavioral competency requirements
  • Support the Software and Systems team to scale validation capabilities to span high volumes of test cases
  • Discover performance deficiencies and architect solutions in both hardware and software

About You

  • A systems thinker - you think in terms of the system functionality, with a clear understanding of the role of requirements, verification, and validation during development
  • Expertise in vehicle motion planning in driving automation applications
  • Expertise in actor prediction in driving automation applications
  • Deep expertise in data analysis and algorithm development, preferably with experience in Python
  • Conceptual understanding of major functional systems of autonomy stacks: perception, controls, mapping, localization, etc
