THE CHALLENGE

Over the last decade, we have built a world-class SaaS platform for event organizers, enabling millions of events globally. At this point we’ve added exponentially more engineering teams, served millions of customers, and outgrown our system several times over. In order to help us achieve the next level of evolution in our company, we need your expertise to help us implement a world class software delivery pipeline that will enable our engineering organization to move at a high velocity.

 

THE TEAM

We’re a team that listens and empathizes with our clients (the engineering organization), we work with them on solving their problems and take in data over time to figure out high value tools, solutions, and infrastructure that will make our engineering organization operate more effectively. We are looking to transform our QA and production infrastructure to a more modern orchestration system and desire the leadership and guidance to help us create the infrastructure most suited for a ticketing system that sees massive resource usage fluctuations for high-demand events.

 

 

THE ROLE

We are looking for an empathetic and technically skilled manager to join the Devtools Infrastructure Team. This team is a newly formed team in 2020 whose mandate is to increase the speed, quality, and efficiency of the engineering organization and create a scalable production infrastructure that can handle a lot of load without needing the manual toil of people constantly monitoring our infrastructure. You will be responsible for leading and defining the roadmap for the team in this time of growth and transformative change in the company. We are an organization where servant leaders thrive, where they focus on empowering engineers and while working through the technical nuances necessary for the team to succeed.

THE SKILL SET

  • 3+ years managerial experience on a infrastructure team
  • 2+ years experience administering and using Kubernetes and its ecosystem
  • 2+ years experience developing Docker containers
  • 2+ years experience working with AWS technologies
  • 1+ years experience administering and configuring CI/CD tools, such as Jenkins or CircleCI
  • 3+ years SRE and production experience
  • Willingness to work on a distributed and remote team
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Open source contributions
  • Experience defining SLOs/SLAs and implementing alerting, monitoring, and writing runbooks
  • Experience with automated testing frameworks and methodologies
  • Experience with defining pipelines
  • Experience with Terraform, Nomad, and other HashiCorp technologies
