Senior Vendor Manager
Position Overview:
Reporting to the Sr. Director, Operations, the Senior Vendor Manager is responsible for partnering across all functions to build direct relationships with key vendors, negotiate contracts, terms & conditions, and work with our vendors to build comprehensive selection and price strategies. This role will also be responsible for assessing vendor risk and partnering with Quality, Trust & Compliance to manage the qualification process including vendor audits. The Senior Vendor Manager will work with a variety of vendors and must have the necessary leadership presence and communication skills.
You will be expected to work independently in a rapidly changing environment and be innovative on how to consistently improve.
Responsibilities:
- Manage all aspects of vendor management and oversight: from sourcing, selection, qualification, contract development, to performance management, continuous process improvement, and offboarding.
- Develop and maintain vendor management policies and procedures.
- Create business plans for new opportunities and develop and execute project plans
- Develop and execute RFI’s, RFP’s, business landscape research, and vendor selection.
- Drive strategic negotiations for vendor contracts and build effective relationships and partnerships.
- Manage budgets & forecasting through an ability to understand internal and external variables that impact the business.
- Lead and facilitate all quality and technical aspects of the vendor qualification activities and processes, including vendor audits and acceptance activities of implementing third party software solutions.
- Generate and maintain endpoint’s approved vendor status listing.
- Monitor performance and compliance across all vendors and manage risk and issues that may occur.
- Work closely with multi-level teams for the identification, evaluation and qualification of new vendors and improve adherence to regulations and internal procedures.
- Responsible to develop, analyze and communicate results to of vendor KPI’s to business units, noting identifiable trends and/or issues.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Merchandising, or Management
Experience
- 5+ years of relevant senior level experience with a proven track record of delivering results
- 5+ years’ experience in negotiations and vendor management
- 2+ years information security experience, preferred.
- Experience with all aspects of vendor oversight including but not limited to: vendor selection, contract development, SLAs, performance management, continuous process improvement, writing policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of procurement and vendor management processes, including RFPs and contracts
- Experience building relationships and working with cross functional business teams.
- Knowledge of U.S. and international regulatory standards and guidelines
- Experience with Microsoft Office applications and Adobe Acrobat Professional.
