Your role at Harness

• Architect and Evolve Harness’ platform strategy
• Author software functional specifications and design documents
• Influence and mentor team members and cross functional teams to produce highly scalable software solutions
• Effectively communicate technical plans and help all stakeholders navigate changes
• Quickly understand complex systems/code and own key pieces of the system, including the delivered quality
• Diagnose and troubleshoot complex problems in a distributed computing environment
• Perform peer reviews of specifications, designs, and code
• Perform peer reviews of specifications, designs, and codeWork alongside Site Reliability Engineers and cross functional teams to diagnose/troubleshoot any production performance related issues from logs to code

About you

• BS in CS or equivalent. Advanced degree is a plus
• Expert design and debugging skills in a distributed computing environment
• Demonstrable ability to convey technical specifications to engineers and non-technical audiences
• Deep background in data structures and algorithms
• Prior experience re-architecting a monolithic application into a collection of microservices
• Recent responsibilities in triaging production issues, debugging
• Excited about leading by example. Player / coach mentality
• Experience in as many of the following areas:
• Building containerized applications (Docker)
• Building applications in a Micro Services Architecture
• Working with Networking and Security protocols (HTTPS, SSL, Certs)
• Designing/developing REST, GRPC, and GraphQL APIs
• Using MongoDB, including indexing and query optimization
• Working with platforms and tools like AppD, Stackdriver, GCP, Kubernetes, OpenShift
• Experience in developing Java code is a plus
• Knowledge of Go is a plus
