At Plaid, we believe that the way consumers and businesses interact with their finances will drastically improve in the next few years. Our goal is to build the tools and infrastructure for developers to create this next generation of financial services applications. Today, hundreds of companies such as Venmo, Coinbase, and Acorns rely on Plaid to integrate with banks and the financial system.

In this role, you will become an owner of Plaid’s abuse infrastructure, and help build APIs that enable engineers to launch new products safely and securely. As Plaid grows, you will ensure that Plaid continues to be protected from emerging abuse vectors. Success means being able to consistently measure and goal against reducing abuse happening across Plaid’s ecosystem.

What excites us

  • 3+ years experience building high availability infrastructure to collect signals for understanding and monitoring potential abuse.
  • Understanding and prioritizing abuse vectors quantitatively.
  • Able to work cross-functionally with teams like compliance, legal, and product to understand potential abuse patterns, and help teams integrate with core abuse infrastructure.
  • Successful projects across the engineering stack that tackle fraud, abuse, spam, or trust and safety at scale.
  • Experience building, maintaining and understanding the health of your classifiers to automate abuse detection.

What excites you

  • Integrating yourself into the product launch process to proactively understand new abuse vectors.
  • Creating novel signals to better understand how adversaries are working across Plaid’s ecosystem.
  • Working across the stack backend to frontend, as well as on mobile to understand abuse end to end.
  • Building APIs for engineers so they can abstract abuse concerns out of their products.
  • Helping automate how operation teams review and respond to new or ongoing attacks.

We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, religion, color, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status.
