We're looking for a passionate, excited Android developer with a strong desire to build fast, simple, and beautiful mobile apps matched with a passion for bringing a sense of community back to the neighborhood. You will be a technical leader on a small team of developers and designers working on our award-winning mobile application.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop beautiful code for Android
• Provide architectural and technical leadership on developing our core mobile platform
• Help lead development efforts on mobile product features on Android
• Help scale our mobile platform as we experience massive growth

Requirements:

• BS in relevant technical field, or equivalent work experience.
• 1+ years of Android development experience and 2+ years industry experience
• Passionate about the Android platform and mobile development space
• Experience in Automated testing / TDD
• Expert level Android-specific domain, Java programming, and experience leading full lifecycle of application development from whiteboard through Google Play release.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, both verbal and written
• Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced startup environment
• Passion for Nextdoor’s mission
