DoorDash is building the world's most reliable on-demand, logistics engine for delivery! We're looking for experienced engineers to join our fast-growing engineering team to help us develop a 24x7, global infrastructure system that powers DoorDash’s three-sided marketplace of consumers, merchants, and dashers.

The newly formed API Platform team will build and operate the framework that provides the foundation for our client-facing APIs. We are looking for mid-to-senior level engineers who are passionate about building a secure, reliable, and performance-conscious platform that helps our product engineers deliver faster!

What You’ll Do

• Develop, release and operate a large-scale, public-facing web service.
• Improve performance, reliability, security and observability for our backend systems.
• Be involved in transitioning our monolithic codebase to a microservice-based architecture.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of industry experience
• Prior experience working with event-driven app servers and async I/O frameworks
• Ability to analyze and identify system-level resource bottlenecks
• Understanding of modern web architectures and standards
• Experience with interservice protocols and conventions (HTTP, REST, gRPC)
• Experience with service oriented architectures, unit and integration testing best practices, and architectural design
• Experience with Kotlin and/or Java
• Experience building large scale, real-time applications
