The Role

We are currently seeking a Software Engineer to join our Automation and Tooling team! 

As a Software Engineer, Automation and Tooling,  you will build tooling to help us deliver our software to production with increased speed and quality. You will work closely with our stakeholders, including but not limited to Quality Engineers, Developers, SRE, Security Engineers, QA DevOps, etc. You will partner with the SRE team on monitoring, observability and alerting to improve Mean Time to Detect, Mean Time To Repair, Uptime, and other key metrics.

The ideal candidate will have a background in a software engineering field, have some tooling or infrastructure experience. You are methodical, a self-starter,  and passionate about support, results-driven problem solving, and strategic thinking. 

This is a 6 months Project Employee position, starting on January/2022.

What You’ll Do

  • Work with Engineering teams across different time zones in the US, India, and Scotland. 
  • Contribute to engineering efforts from design to implementation, solving complex technical challenges around developer and engineering productivity and velocity.
  • Contribute to the design and build advanced automated build, test, and release infrastructure.
  • Participant in the adoption of best practices in code quality, testing, and maintainability.
  • Analyze and decompose complex software systems and collaborate with cross-functional teams to influence design for testability.
  • Be an active technical partner within the team and within Addepar in general.

Who You Are

  • BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience coding in Python and other equivalent scripting languages.
  • Recent experience working as a Software Engineer (or equivalent role).
  • You have experience working on a front-end platform for your team or experience building internal toolings.
  • Experience in container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Shown understanding of APIs (GraphQL is a plus).
  • Ability to problems solve in a fast-paced, agile team environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
