Job Description

Our team is small and nimble, and our engineers move extremely quickly to solve unique and challenging problems. We’re looking for an engineer to help scale our communications channels and build new intelligent systems for sending the most important messages to our users. This role is ideal for someone data-driven who likes to iterate on ideas and ship projects quickly. It offers the unique opportunity to have a direct impact on our highest performance systems. We own all aspects of our messaging, from email user targeting all the way down to our in-house ESP services, giving us the flexibility to run projects you won’t find elsewhere.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Optimization experiments on top of our campaigns system that sends hundreds of millions of messages every day across push, email, and other platforms.

  • Building out novel new campaign concepts to better engage users and drive long-term user retention.

  • Improving the performance and scalability of our back-end processing systems, which send over 40k messages per second at peak.

  • Building out scalable ML models based on a deep understanding of what drives our users and their behaviors.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science (related field) or equivalent work experience

  • 3+ years of programming experience.

  • Learns quickly and is willing to take calculated risks.

  • Has creative ideas and proves them with data-driven methods.

  • Strong understanding of the entire engineering stack, and how each piece fits together in a high performance system.

  • Experience with AWS, Mongo, Solr, Golang.

  • Exposure to DevOps and related tools, ie, Docker is a plus.

  • Experience in marketing automation is a plus.
