Software Engineer, Platform Adoption (Remote - U.S)
Atlassian can hire people in any country where we have a legal entity, assuming candidates have eligible working rights and a sufficient timezone overlap with their team. As our offices re-open, Atlassians can choose to work remotely or return to an office, unless it’s necessary for the role to be performed in the office. Interviews and onboarding are conducted virtually, a part of being a distributed-first company.
Where you’ll make an impact:
We are a small, but highly impactful cross-geo team primarily based in the US west coast and Australia. As an engineer on Platform Adoption, you will have the opportunity to work on initiatives seeking to reduce friction for Products to adopt our Platform capabilities.
Common problems that Platform Adoption aims to resolve, are focused around Capability discovery and the effort required to adopt such Capabilities in an existing or new Product. To address these we are working on projects such as Capability Maps (Discovery improvement), centralized product configuration management (Ease onboarding) or even a "New Product Starter Kit".
This is done through centralized “hub” projects within the team, or by collaborating closely with platform teams across all Atlassian. You will be supported by senior engineers, product and program managers throughout each project.
More about you:
- Eagerness and ability to quickly learn new technologies you may not yet be familiar with, going from backend to frontend. Common Atlassian tech stacks are Java and React following a microservice architecture on our PaaS (AWS based)
- With the help of your team, autonomously seek outstanding, often sophisticated, problem areas in our platform and work on solving them
- Good soft skills and excellent at sharing your takeaways in written form (Atlassian has a strong blogging culture)
- Enabling and driving decisions backed with data in the face of the never-ending challenge of infinite unknowns
The following are not required, but definite bonuses:
- Experience in a Platform driven company
- Experience with cross geo and/or fully remote teams
- Experience with Java
- Experience with large scale web applications
- Experience in large scale transformation (think monolith to micro-services)
