As a software engineer, you will extend Shippo’s reach by implementing integrations for new carriers and order management platforms to the Shippo network. The software engineer will have end-to-end ownership over design, implementation, and testing of new integrations and additions to existing integrations.
RESPONSIBILITIES

• Deeply understand our customer needs and the nuances of each integration 
• Collaborate with product management in the development of specifications 
• Design, implement, and test new integrations and new features in existing integrations
• Look for opportunities to improve the framework and common libraries
• Identify the need for and implement customer-facing and internal tools that assist in troubleshooting integration issues
• Participate in peer testing, including development of test plans and executing test cases 
• Lead design reviews and actively participate in peer reviews 
• Contribute to automated test suite and maintain technical documentation

REQUIREMENTS

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent
• More than two internships in software development. 
• Extensive knowledge of programming languages (Go, Python, Java, C/C++) as well as database languages (SQL); solid understanding of object-oriented programming
• Experience with Single Page Application development (React, Vue) a plus
• Coding experience in server-side programming (Python, Java, Scala)
• Exceptional verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Interest in and understanding of security practices and test automation
