As a software infrastructure engineer at Postmates X, you’ll be responsible for creating and providing a stable software foundation that the broader engineering organization can depend on. You’ll be working closely with machine learning, controls, mapping, and robotics teams. You’ll be responsible for enabling developers with middleware and tooling to allow for efficient development of robotics algorithms and software applications.
Responsibilities:
- Develop C++/Python Linux middleware for robotic software applications
- Work cross-functionally to identify developer pain points and propose solutions
- Design user-friendly C++/Python APIs
- Develop tooling for data visualization
- Develop tooling for introspection of live systems
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience developing production C++ software
- 5+ years of experience developing production Python software
- 5+ years of experience working with Linux systems
- Solid understanding of asynchronous programming patterns
- Solid understanding of threading and concurrency
- Solid understanding of inter-process communication techniques
Bonus:
- Experience with Bazel build system
- Experience with open source middleware projects such as ROS
- Good understanding and use of Docker
