About Your Role

You will be a key contributor on a small, collaborative team focused on one of the most exciting robotics applications today. Our Software Engineering team is expanding and looking for an experienced Software Operations Engineer to contribute to our Triage efforts. In this impactful role, you will collaborate closely with AV Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Vehicle Operations to analyze, report, and track interesting behaviors and/or failures of the automated system.

About Your Work

  • Curate and review events encountered by the vehicle in simulated and real-world testing to diagnose the cause of unexpected behavior and identify failure modes
  • Communicate AV behavioral trends, assess impact, and escalate important issues to stakeholders
  • Collaborate with the systems engineering team to curate scenarios and organize them into appropriate test sets for testing and validation
  • Collaborate with engineering to track software bugs through their lifetime
  • Build scripts and tools to automate workflows and enhance productivity

About You

  • You are technically savvy with a background or relevant experience in engineering or other technical field
  • You have relevant experience working in one or more of the following areas: AV behavior & data triage, AV operations, robotics simulation, software quality assurance, etc.
  • You are comfortable using and navigating visual/spatial software in 2D and 3D
  • Experience with Python and/or C++ to help drive tooling, evaluation framework development, and to compute/evaluate metrics
  • Proficiency with Linux command line interface and git commands
  • A knack and passion for figuring things out; you are always looking for ways to make our tools and processes better and more efficient
  • Positive attitude, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, and ability to effectively manage and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
