The Solutions Architect interfaces with prospective and current customers, working to understand the client’s key business objectives, technical requirements, and providing guidance in accordance with industry and company best-practices. The Solutions Architect combines customer communication and deep technical knowledge at a critical step in the sales process to derive technical solution approach. The individual in this role will liaise cross-departmentally to create an optimal technical solution in line with the customer objectives.

How you'll contribute:

  • Understand the customer goals, requirements as well as current and planned lending operations context
  • Exert domain expertise in integration patterns, protocols, and best practices, including Blend’s integration offerings
  • Develop Blend technical solution best practices
  • Map to the customer objectives and requirements to create a targeted integration strategy
  • Work with Blend Sales and Product teams, and the customer directly, to prepare for and lead the requirements gathering call to better understand the customer's integration needs
  • Develop and validate simple scripts for custom integration work (data conversions/transformations)
  • Initiate and manage cross-departmental communication to resolve any solution related questions and issues
  • Serve as a conduit of integration-related product features to the product team for roadmap consideration
  • Support the development of a sales strategy for each account particularly as it relates to consulting opportunities with direct customers and third-party integrators
  • Function as a subject matter expert for the Encompass SDK and APIs
  • Provide sales support for the positioning and quoting of tailored consultative and deployment services
  • Gather necessary requirements and specifications needed to create technical Statements of Work for Professional Services engagements
  • Consult with clients and third-party vendors for clear definition of requirements

Who you are:

  • Strong proficiency of system architecture, relevant technologies (CRM, Marketing, Analytics, SOR, etc.) and vendors (Ellie Mae, MuleSoft, TIBCO, Wipro, etc), and tracking techniques
  • Experience integrating using Restful APIs and SDKs (notably, Encompass, NetOxygen and other Loan Origination Systems)
  • 3+ years of experience implementing projects with knowledge of NodeJS, Typescript, Go, and other web technologies
  • 3+ years scoping and architecting experience using enterprise integration patterns like Message-based patterns, point-to-point and FTP
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision making skills along with strong written, verbal and presentation skills; prefer experience in a Sales capacity
  • Skilled at multitasking, can juggle competing priorities while making sound business decisions based on goals and objectives
  • Ability to work independently and interfacing with other lines of business, developers and QA
  • Ability to break down project phases into technical tasks and sub-tasks to delegate to appropriate development personnel
  • Attention to detail; clear, logical thinking
  • Comfortable working in a fast paced, team environment

Bonus Points!

  • Experience working with Functional Programming Languages, XML, SOAP, REST, JSON, SQL, .NET, Java, Javascript
  • Experience in third-party and back-office integrations
  • Full stack development experience
  • Ability to translate technical instructions or concepts into non-technical easy to understand terms
  • 5+ years of software development experience, preferable
  • Mortgage technology experience, preferable
