Overview:

As a Senior Quality Engineering Manager, you will be leading a group of talented QA engineers and TPMs. This team is on a mission to raise the bar of our product quality, developer workflow processes, and execution efficiency.  This person will act as a servant leader who can lead multiple parallel initiatives - big and small - with attention to detail, manage outcomes and is passionate about CI/CD/Software Quality Engineering/Process improvement, while working alongside a team of seasoned engineers and the leadership team. As the leader of this organization, you will be responsible for hiring, coaching, guiding and growing these teams to achieve the organization mission of learning from the best with high quality! 

What You Will Do:

  • Lead the QA team of automation engineers (focused on web, mobile and tv platform test infrastructure) and manual testers focused on product quality and test coverage.
  • Lead the Technical Program Management team that partners closely with engineering leaders and PMs to manage project execution using agile processes
  • Improve the overall development process by identifying gaps or inefficiencies in workflows and suggesting solutions
  • Ensure your teams are able to effectively deliver on short term goals while enabling the engineering organization to raise the bar on quality and agility
  • Make sound first-principle decisions around team resourcing (both IC and managers), composition and evolve the team according to the needs and team dynamics.
  • Work closely with other engineering and product leaders to define and execute a long term quality strategy
  • Be a catalyst to promote ‘Quality First’ mindset throughout the cross-functional organization
  • Exercise sound judgment, discretion, and timeliness in decision making
  • Enable effective decision making and risk/return tradeoffs using quantitative and qualitative quality metrics.

About You:

  • 8+ years of relevant technical experience working with complex software systems
  • 3+ years experience in technology leadership roles
  • Proven track record in building/managing high performing teams and growing team-members
  • Experience working closely with cross-functional stakeholders to define and influence strategic roadmaps
  • Intimate knowledge of each key function in the SDLC
  • Passionate about engineering excellence and product quality/polish
  • Thrives in ambiguous environments and gets excited about figuring out solutions to complex problems, and execution on them
  • Prior experience in building automation test frameworks is a bonus
