Job Summary:

MasterClass is looking for a Sr. Network and Infrastructure Engineer to serve in a full time capacity. This role will be responsible for configuring, monitoring, and updating MasterClass’ internal networks, both local and cloud. This role will also build infrastructure as code environments, and should be familiar with Terraform and Ansible. We are looking for a responsive, highly productive professional that is able to communicate effectively across all altitudes and help grow MasterClass’ internal tools into the next era.

Responsibilities of the role:

• Working closely with the Director of IT and Engineering Leads to take over management and ownership of MasterClass’ Internal networking tools.
• Develop and execute a plan on quarterly updates to existing systems including security features and performance tuning.
• Triage and investigate security and threat notifications related to internal and external networks in an ongoing fashion while ensuring proper logging of users and traffic.
• Incorporate a plan to iterate and improve MasterClass’ Networks over the lifetime of the business.
• Establish regular monthly system backup, redundancy, and usability checks.
• Prioritize and execute work to streamline management of AWS assets.
• Assist with Engineering and Post-Production related networking security projects.
• Discover and deploy new technologies as MasterClass grows.

What we are looking for: 

• An infrastructure engineer with 7+ Years of experience working with Local and Cloud networking tools and systems.
• Experience working for a high-growth consumer brand; excels in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent problem solving skills and experience troubleshooting large distributed systems
• “Yes” Attitude: Experience in navigating high pressure encounters and last minute changes
• Ability to maintain detailed notes, documentation, and web architecture diagrams

Requirements: 

• Full-time role based in San Francisco
• 7+ years working with on-premise IT systems such as Windows and Linux Servers, LAN Networks and Network Storage Arrays
• Working knowledge of Terraform, Ansible, AWS, Fortinet and Meraki
• Solid understanding of Python
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Thorough attention to detail, ability to break tasks into granular pieces and manage multiple projects
• Strong Technical skills with an emphasis on problem solving
