Grail is looking for a software architect who enjoys testing, automation, performance testing, meeting clinical compliance, and developing high-quality software. As an architect who focuses on testing, you will be responsible for setting the processes, automation strategies, frameworks, and capabilities to ensure that we are developing software that scales to huge volumes and meets the needs of software developed for the clinical market. This is a cross-functional role and needs someone with core expertise in test development and architecture, as well as a strong background in developing software for medical devices and strong leadership skills.
You will:
- Improve and measure the performance and efficiency of Grail’s engineering infrastructure and software applications.
- Build a test factory with consideration for scale, performance, chaos, security, etc. automated testing.
- Architect and develop automated test frameworks that will establish product quality standards for our development process.
- Improve testing infrastructure with accountability and scalability in mind.
- Work with our quality team to provide seamless integration with clinical compliance documentation.
- Implement, improve, and integrate with our continuous integration platform.
- Build and enhance key architecture of our automated testing library.
- Participate in the development of technical tools and documentation to expedite deployment and user experience.
Your Background Includes:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Bioinformatics, or similar technical field.
- 13+ years of experience in software engineering building test infrastructure.
- Strong test architecture, automation, and leadership skillsMedical device/healthcare software experience.
- Experience with ISO 13485 is a big plus.
- A background in working within the healthcare/genomics field is required—ideally, 10+ years of experience in this area.
- Experience with automating performance, scale, chaos, etc. testing.
- Fluency in general-purpose programming languages such as Java, Javascript, Python, Go.
- Experience with AWS technologies. AWS certification is a major plus.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and the ability to adapt your message to the technical level of the audience.
