Who We Are:


The Privacy Engineering team is charged with turning privacy into a core competency and competitive advantage for Fanatics. We do this by providing easy-to-use- tooling and consulting for other teams to consume as part of a holistic program across the company. The team is also responsible for measuring privacy and data protection metrics for Fanatics and our partners to consume.

 

Your work will enable other engineering teams to adopt privacy by design while preserving overall development velocity.

Areas of Responsibility:

  • Building tools and services to measure and enable engineering teams to build protected software by design
  • Enabling teams to manage their data in an intentional and thoughtful way through delivering efficient tools and processes
  • Driving delivery of innovative privacy solutions tightly integrated into our software development process.
  • Working closely with Security, Architecture, Product, Data Platforms, and Legal

Basic Qualifications:

  • At least 7 years of software development experience
  • Comfort with multiple languages (Go, Python, Java, etc)
  • Must have knowledge of container platforms like Docker
  • Must have strong SQL programming knowledge and experience
  • Experience with Git or a similar distributed version control system
  • Experience operating and building within cloud service providers, preferably AWS
  • Ability to design and build API specs
  • Possess technical aptitude and a desire to learn new technologies
  • Capable of taking ownership of and accountability for deliverables
  • Able to work in a collaborative environment to support rapid development and delivery of results

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sound understanding of privacy laws & regulations and security compliance frameworks (GDPR, CCPA, SOC2 and SOX)
  • Strong technical background, with experience automating privacy & compliance processes
  • Practical experience driving change across compliance and privacy within a tech or consulting firm
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, with a proactive approach to risk mitigation
  • Passion for technology and the drive to use tech to protect consumers
