The Cloud Commerce Platform User & Experiences team is looking for a Staff Software Engineer whose primary responsibilities are the architecture, design and implementation of distributed software solutions in a highly available cloud environment.
Job Requirements
- 7+ years’ experience building scalable applications
- Strong development experience with the Java 11 stack including Spring/SpringBoot
- Strong development experience with HTTP/RESTful APIs, Microservices
- Experience working with NoSQL technologies like Cassandra, Kafka
- Exposure to containers technology, like docker/kubernetes
- Strong development experience with messaging architectures like Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc
- Have a strong bias for making things happen and love the team aspect of product development
- Be data oriented to support important decision making
- Be an expert debugger of problems, being able to connect distributed logging into a coherent understanding
- Be a subject matter expert for some of the systems we own, engage in active discussions and contribute to multiple systems
Minimum qualifications
- BS Degree in Computer Science, Engineering
- Requires at least 5 years of software development experience
- Proven experience working with Agile development methodologies and software development lifecycles
- Ability to scale and lead major initiatives
- Requires knowledge of open source application frameworks and service oriented architecture
Preferred qualifications
- Bachelor’ degree in Computer Science
- Experience with Java or other object-oriented languages is a plus
- Experience working in an e-commerce or direct to consumer retail environment is a plus
- Hands-on experience with Open-Source projects a plus
- Hands-on experience in the Cloud; specifically AWS a plus
- Prior experience in eCommerce and payments industry a plus
- Knowledge and experience of continuous delivery, including automated testing of various layers etc.
- Knowledge and experience of relational and NOSQL Databases
- Implement coding changes within a wide variety of services using a diverse technology stack, including Java, Spring Framework, Node.JS, Docker,
- Experience with the following are a plus: React, Node.JS, MobX ,Go, Cassandra, Java, AWS
- Expert reviewer and Code style enforcer
- Specialize in one domain (Eg. Performance, Releases, Monitoring, Logging, Cloud, Services, Payments, etc)
- Able to break large tasks into smaller workable stories.
- Identify opportunities to clean, refactor and optimize the codebase.
- Defines new and cleans up old code standards and guidelines
