About the team:

We bridge the gap between our platform providing machine learning at scale and our customers' needs.  We give our customers a seamless way to gain insights, make decisions, and navigate the ever-changing world of fraud fighting.  We provide customer-facing automated workflow tools running on highly-available services architecture.  We’re also responsible for providing third-party extensibility points, giving our customers simple ways to use our product within their current workstreams.  Together we provide the platform that makes high-volume streams of data understandable, actionable and usable.

We’re looking for a highly experienced engineer to help drive our product forward with heavy focus on API’s, helping to shape our architecture, and sharpen our toolset as we scale up for our enterprise customers.  Great candidates will bring experience in taking your ideas from concept to customer at scale, with high quality, and on time.  You thrive on high-growth, high-impact opportunities at a growing startup.  You have a clear sense of how you can leverage your strengths and past experience while learning new things.  You excel at distilling simplicity from complexity, and creating order from ambiguity.

What you’ll do:

• Lead the definition and design of the next generation API Platform

• Scale out our automated workflows to tens of thousands of requests/sec

• Evaluate technology that we will use to scale our business and metrics to scale to our next level of enterprise customer

• Work with our ML teams to do our next generation feature extraction from customer data

• Partner with Engineering Leadership and Product Management to determine the right balance of scope and schedule, as we build industry-leading services that promote digital trust and safety

• Lead the way in creating/improving our forward-looking service and platform architecture

• Proactively drive improvements to our engineering practices

What would make you a strong fit:

• 8+ years of experience designing and developing APIs

• 8+ years creating succinct, performant, and easily readable code in Java

• 8+ years designing API servers that have integrated and scaled with different customers

• Experience using large-scale NoSQL databases like MongoDB, Redis or Big Table

• Experience with distributed systems and/or highly scalable, customer-facing applications

• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (e.g. GCP, AWS)

• Strong communication & collaboration skills - a team-first, product-first mindset

• Experience in architecting systems at scale

• BS in Computer Science or related field
