Carta is hiring experienced software engineers at the Senior, Staff and Senior Staff levels in our San Francisco and Seattle offices to build products and services powered by Carta’s ownership graph: the central registry of asset ownership across the globe.

As an engineer on our Investor Services team, you’ll play a foundational role on one of the fastest-growing teams at Carta that works closely with venture capital firms to develop products that help drive their investment decisions.

Applicants must have strong technical skills, be excited by “zero to one” projects, and enjoy working closely with cross-functional stakeholders. Prior experience in FinTech is not required: our team consists of very nice people who are happy to help you learn everything you need to be successful at Carta.

Responsibilities 

• Collect requirements, develop technical strategy, and build the products and services that power Carta’s Venture Capital and Fund Administration business
• Uphold our engineering standards and bring consistency to the many codebases and processes you will encounter

Qualifications

• 8+ years Full stack or back-end engineering experience, with strong systems fundamentals
• Exceptional cross functional communication skills 
• Experience mentoring other engineers in their technical and architectural decision making 
• Experience with service oriented architecture
• Strong industry experience in architecture and development of scalable production quality backend systems.
• Experience architecting complex SaaS products
• Experience leading technical decision making and architecture
• Experience working with business stakeholders to understand business requirements and build thoughtful solutions
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks/libraries like React or Angular.js
• Comfortable regularly working in team environments
