System Engineer
Grammarly offers a remote-first hybrid working model. Team members can work primarily remotely. Teams will meet in person every quarter in one of Grammarly’s hubs, currently in San Francisco, Vancouver, New York, and Kyiv. To ensure that teams are able to overlap in their working hours and to meet face-to-face when needed, all team members need to live within three time zones of their direct team.
Grammarly team members who will be collaborating at our San Francisco hub must be based in the United States.

To achieve our ambitious goals, we are looking for a System Engineer to join our IT team. This role will help Grammarly improve our IT ecosystem by creating more integrations between cloud services and simplifying the maintenance of infrastructure and services. The System Engineer will also automate the main business processes to move closer to IT self-service and work to improve employee satisfaction. This individual will work closely with all global teams at Grammarly, including Engineering, Security, IT, Customer Support, Marketing, and Legal.

Your impact
As System Engineer, you will help reinforce the infrastructure and services team within Grammarly’s IT organization.
In this role, you will:
- Handle the administration of SaaS infrastructure and services (Okta, Jamf, Atlassian products, Azure, AWS).
- Integrate corporate infrastructure and services.
- Maintain, update, and expand the corporate access management process.
- Automate primary IT processes and move toward IT self-service.
- Cooperate with the Platform team to maintain AWS infrastructure.
- Work closely with the Engineering team to build test environments and maintain existing test labs.
- Provide L3 troubleshooting and support for the corporate infrastructure and services.
- Increase level of security of corporate infrastructure and services.
- Be responsible for the availability and health of information systems through service monitoring, change management, and maintaining the integrity of system data.
- Maintain existing IT how-tos and end-user manuals (processes, policies, procedures, and guidelines).
- Improve customer satisfaction.
- Work continuously to improve the quality of service.
We’re looking for someone who

- Has 3+ years of experience in systems administration or DevOps.
- Bring knowledge of enterprise administration and troubleshooting of Windows-, Unix-, Mac-based domains.
- Is knowledgeable of cloud infrastructure and security.
- Has experience in the integration of various cloud services and automation of business processes.

- For Colorado-based employment: The salary range for this position is $101,000 – $179,000/year; however, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.
