 As a Thermal Engineer, you will be responsible for thermal simulations, testing, and characterization activities to validate and improve thermal models/solutions for high-performance computing. A successful candidate will possess a passion for thermal modeling and testing to validate thermal solutions.

Minimum qualifications

  • BS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Material Science, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of direct hands-on experience in thermal modeling and testing in a related high-tech industry
  • Hands-on experience with major thermal CFD modelling tools (6SigmaET, Icepak, or similar)
  • Good understanding of heat transfer (conduction, convection, and radiation)
  • Hands-on experience in thermal testing (DAQ, LabVIEW, TCs, airflow, thermal chambers)
  • Good knowledge of packaging techniques, materials, and server design
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work in a cross-functional team environment 

Preferred qualifications

  • MS in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Mechanics, Material Science, Physics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of direct hands-on experience in thermal modeling and testing in a related high-tech industry
  • Engineering design and industrial working experience with server design
  • Hands-on experience and proficiency in thermal testing (DAQ, LabVIEW, TCs, airflow, thermal chambers) of computer hardware
  • Proficiency with major thermal CFD modelling tools (6SigmaET, Icepak, or similar)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present ideas, design concepts, data, and plans clearly and efficiently

Role and Responsibilities

  • Carry out package/system thermal modeling using CFD modeling tools
  • Drive thermal lab development and operations
  • Execute thermal testing to validate and improve thermal models and solutions
