This is a Contract position through Upwork’s Talent Innovation Program (TIP). Our TIP team is a global group of professionals that augment Upwork’s business. Our TIP team members are located all over the world.

Work/Project Scope: 

Our current Cloud Native Platform architecture supports the development, release, deployment and runtime operation of hundreds of microservices. This Platform version is in deep maintenance mode. We have started working on a new version of Platform, based on the latest Cloud Native components and principles. 

The role will be responsible for building and implementing parts of the new Platform version but also supporting the current version. 

Must Haves (Required Skills): 

• Experience with microservices architecture
• Hands on experience with Kubernetes and Docker
• Expert level containerization knowledge
• Able to work during Pacific Standard Timezone business hours for 40 hours a week

Nice to Haves (Not Required): 

• Knowledge of service mesh principles
• Experience with Istio
• Knowledge of CI/CD principles
• Experience with other CNCF components and tools
