About the Role
As a Vehicle Test Engineer, you will work cross-functionally to develop test plans, carry out procedures, analyze the data, and present results and conclusions. You will be responsible for determining the best process to ensure test integrity, meet deadlines, manage resources, balance risk, and communicate effectively. You will be the liaison between internal teams such as Product, Software, Hardware, Operations, Safety, and with external suppliers.
About the Work
Hands-on work with hardware, electrical, and software to execute test plans, analyze data, submit reports and work with other teams on how to improve tested systems
Create test procedures to validate both hardware and software logic
Testing both full and sub-system level
Lead and support engineering test activities by applying engineering practices, principles, and various analysis tools to achieve performance targets and any standards (regulatory/industry)
Travel to test sites and supplier labs as required
About You
2+ years of automotive test engineering experience or equivalent experience
Instrumentation experience (strain gauges, thermocouples, load cells, etc)
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education with the following specialties preferred: Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Automotive, Computer Science
Team player
Highly organized, self-driven
Logical, data driven, thinker
Fluently communicate with several parties on issues or suggested improvements
High level of follow through
Detail oriented
Strong knowledge of vehicle operation (logic, structure, etc)
Flexibility and responsiveness to urgent requests and changing deadlines
Bonus Points
Hands-on automotive experience i.e, familiar with tools and able to confidently use without supervision
Familiarity with CAN architecture and signals
Knowledge of FMVSS and SAE standards and practices
