About the Role

As a Vehicle Test Technician, you will work cross-functionally to develop and carry out test procedures, and assist in data analysis. You will be responsible for determining the best process to ensure test integrity, meet deadlines, manage resources, balance risk, and communicate effectively. You will help influence and improve future and current products and processes. You will work closely with test engineering to coordinate and plan test logistics and execution.

About the Work

  • Work with test, hardware, electrical, and software engineers to execute test plans
  • Maintain focus on test goals during execution while balancing outside demands from engineering, product, and business groups
  • Author accurate, detailed, and comprehensive test reports
  • Lead and support engineering test activities by applying engineering practices, principles, and various analysis tools to achieve performance targets and any standards (regulatory/industry)
  • Engagement with products throughout the product lifecycle from early prototypes through production ready iterations that require diagnostics, precision, and strong communication skills
  • Field travel to test sites and supplier labs to execute tests in extreme environments and tough conditions
  • Coordinate and arrange logistical details involving location, tools, and resources to ensure a successful test
  • Ownership responsibilities for test equipment maintenance and tracking

About You

  • 5+ years of automotive experience or equivalent experience (preferably Master Tech Certification)

  • Familiar with CAN, LIN, and other standard automotive signal standards

  • Familiar with reading wiring diagrams and other engineering documentation

  • Familiar with precision tools and instruments (torque wrenches, accelerometers, thermocouples, etc.)

  • Team player who thrives in a collaborative environment based on transparency and respect

  • Independently-driven; able to learn about complex hardware systems quickly

  • Logical, data driven, thinker who is detail focused and driven to do the right thing

  • Flexibility and responsiveness to urgent requests and changing deadlines

  • Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate and drive internal and external resources to achieve test goals

  • High voltage safety experience and refrigerant recovery and recycling certified preferred

Bonus Points

  • Familiar with G-Suite and strong office skills

  • Prototype development experience

  • Installation, maintenance, and use of instrumentation (thermocouples, accelerometers, strain gauges, etc) 

  • Familiar with Linux based systems

  • Performance driving experience
