ABOUT THE ROLE

As Swoop's VP of Engineering, you will be responsible for continuing to build and manage a high-performing software team. You’ll be reporting to and partnering closely with the CTO and co-founder of Swoop. Swoop's VPE should have a very strong technical background, ideally with a CS degree, who has a passion for managing engineering teams and helping engineering managers continue to grow in their careers. Swoop works with a diverse set of customers, and therefore the VPE should be comfortable balancing many priorities and resourcing teams based on the most important tasks, while also focusing on performance and scalability.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Improve engineering practices to increase velocity, productivity, and developer happiness
  • Develop goals, roadmaps and delivery dates to help Swoop scale quickly and sustainably
  • Manage team resourcing in partnership with Directors of Engineering and the product team leader in execution of the product roadmap
  • Project management of other engineering team initiatives
  • Help the CTO prioritize, plan, and budget across engineering departments & operations
  • Assist the recruiting team with continued growth of the engineering team

REQUIREMENTS

  • 5-10+ years experience managing managers within an engineering team
  • Guided creation of development processes
  • Structured teams to allow multiple product paths and balanced against technical debt
  • Great energy and passion
  • Must be comfortable in a dynamic & high growth environment.
  • Worked within security frameworks (e.g. ISO 27001 & GDPR)
  • Expertise in managing or developing SaaS systems
  • Experience working with large Enterprise customers
  • Valid US Work Authorization
