About the Team
Our engineers are pioneering tools and technologies to efficiently build outstanding user experience across more than 10 platforms for multiple brands. We work closely with innovative design, user-experience, and user-testing teams to deliver multifaceted experiences. Location: San Francisco
Our headquarters is located in downtown San Francisco, where our group of multi-functional specialists assemble to build experiences for Crunchyroll and VRV’s passionate communities.
About You:
- A strong software engineering background combined with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and networking.
- 10+ years leading engineering teams at scale.
- Expertise leading, mentoring, training, and/or hiring a team of hardworking engineers.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills
- Experience in an Agile development environment
- Familiarity with code design principles, patterns, and standard methodologies
- A plus for this role is familiarity with Go
- Familiarity with AWS technologies is a strong plus.
- Knowledge of Players and Playback cross OTT device, mobile and web ecosystem is a plus
A day in the life of our VP of Engineering:
- Provide technical vision and direction to global software engineering teams.
- Recruit, hire, and mentor outstanding engineers and engineering leaders
- Work with product management, program management, analysts, architects, DevOps, engineering leads, and business partners to define requirements, guide product and architectural vision, lead key technical and design discussions, and prioritize delivery efforts
- Lead engineering to iterate quickly and release code constantly
- Build a dynamic, collaborative, and fun team environment
- Design and architect solutions across the entire organization
- Review, select, and integrate next-generation technologies into the architectural strategy as needed
- Advise business leaders by providing data-backed strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities.
- Exceptional solution-building skills; proven ability to understand business challenges, structure sophisticated problems, and develop solutions
