Lead and manage a team of engineers to develop tools and models for capacity planning, optimize infrastructure spending, and support demand growth.
Location: Washington, DC, NYC, San Francisco or Austin US
About the dept.
Cloudflare's Infrastructure Team builds and runs the systems and software that support our solutions that handle trillions of requests per month. We ensure that all of the new and existing features and functionality that Cloudflare offers can be managed at scale and meet the needs of our massively growing, global customer base.
What you'll do
We are looking for an Engineering Manager to join Cloudflare who will be responsible for the data, tools, forecasts, and platforms that support Capacity Planning and other functions. You will lead a team of passionate and talented full stack and data engineers that develop the forecasts and visualizations that ensure we support demand growth while continually improving our operating margins.
Working in partnership with Planners and Data Analysts from our Capacity Planning team, your team will build, operationalize, and scale the tools, data pipelines, forecast models and visualizations needed to optimize our infrastructure spend. You will also lead the engineers responsible for our Maintenance Optimizer application: a Maintenance Coordination System based on a Graph detailing every interface on every device, and all of their connections, for the entire Cloudflare network.
You bring a passion for meeting business needs by building technical, innovative solutions. You excel to understand how big-picture goals inform technical details. You thrive in a fast-paced iterative engineering environment. You have experience scaling machine learning models (forecasting at scale). You build great relationships with your (internal) customers and deeply understand their needs. Most importantly, you have a track record of having past teams respect you as both a technical leader and manager.
