MasterClass is looking to bring on a full time Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to assist in numerous cross-departmental initiatives. This person will be responsible for managing our cloud and on-premise enterprise infrastructure spanning multiple office locations, ensuring reliability and expanding on the currently laid foundation of toolsets. A perfect candidate for this position has experience building, securing, monitoring and automating Hybrid Cloud Infrastructure including AWS deployments and on-premise compute, storage arrays and networks. Projects will include designing systems architecture, defining and deploying Infrastructure as Code, automating away operational toil, securing the environments, authoring runbooks, responding to incidents, and ensuring security and speed of office networks.

Job Summary:

MasterClass’ Infrastructure Engineer role will work closely with a cross functional group to maintain, scale, and optimize our internal facing systems and networks. If you have a strong aptitude for problem solving using technical skills, communicating to varying groups, and influencing decisions that will have lasting impacts this role might be perfect for you. 

Responsibilities of the role:

• Architect secure, scalable systems that match the current and future needs of the enterprise
• Develop and execute projects to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of our enterprise infrastructure
• Provision, integrate, monitor and operate on-premise and AWS compute, storage, and network infrastructure
• Triage and investigate incidents triggered through security reports and monitoring systems
• Discover and deploy new technologies as MasterClass grows

What we are looking for: 

• An infrastructure engineer with 5+ Years of experience working with current cloud/enterprise infrastructure technologies
• Experience working for a high-growth consumer brand; excels in a fast-paced environment
• Experience troubleshooting and scaling internal systems and networks
• Demonstrated success executing projects and planning at a granular level
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to migrate between tasks

Requirements: 

• Full-time role based in San Francisco
• 7+ years working with on-premise IT systems such as Windows and Linux Servers, LAN Networks and Network Storage Arrays
• 3+ years working with Cloud tools and systems such as AWS, DNS, and Monitoring Tools
• 1+ years writing infrastructure automation tooling in at least one programming language and utilizing configuration languages for Terraform, Ansible, or Chef
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
• Thorough attention to detail, ability to break tasks into granular pieces and manage multiple projects
• Strong Technical skills with an emphasis on problem solving
