We are looking for an extremely motivated individual to join our finance team as we continue to scale and grow. This is an excellent opportunity for someone to work directly with the Director of Accounting and help build processes from the ground up.

WHAT YOU'LL ACCOMPLISH

  • Partner with the Supply Chain Team to revise and maintain an inventory schedule for accounting purposes during month-end close. 
  • Perform actual versus standard cost variance analysis, deferred cost of goods sold reconciliations, and lower cost or market (“LCM”) reserve evaluations.
  • Develop a methodology to writing off obsolete inventory, a procedure for tracking scrap/reworked inventory, and recognizing shipping costs related to billable and nonbillable kits.
  • Work with Engineering to differentiate cost of goods sold associated with revenue and the appropriate allowance to record
  • Determine stock option expense and other equity related transactions as necessary to ensure compliance with GAAP
  • Own and reconcile all prepaid expenses and accrual accounts for month-end close
  • Assist with month-end close and transition work away from our 3rd-party accounting firm by owning financial statement account reconciliations
  • Perform full-cycle Accounts Payable functions, including but not limited to processing invoices, vendor maintenance, processing 1099s, and W9 maintenance
  • Research and remain current on new and existing accounting guidances and have the ability to identify the impact on the company
  • Document all accounting procedures as necessary 
  • Assist the Director of Accounting with preparing the company for its first audit and subsequent audits
  • Assist in system implementations 

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and/or 5-7 years of relevant experience
  • CPA 
  • Experience with inventory and cost of goods sold reporting
  • Experience in Quickbooks Online, Netsuite, Bill.com, Expensify or similar accounting software systems.
  • Comfortable working with the ambiguity of a fast-paced startup - ability to innovate, and solve problems creatively
  • Desire to learn, grow, develop, and eventually mentor future team members
  • Have a sense of humor and like to have fun. We work hard, but we laugh a lot too
