About the role:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for ensuring the integrity of accounting and reporting by providing process knowledge, technical expertise, business collaboration, and reporting leadership. Responsibilities include driving the month-end process, reconciliation review, and enhancement of financial statement preparation and internal review process. You will also be accountable for the ongoing oversight of process improvement, margin analysis, and tracing costs back to underlying activities. We are looking for someone who has substantive knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices, processes, and procedures and will be involved in laying the foundation of a scalable accounting function. This role will report directly to our Controller.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead system automation initiatives including implementation of the NetSuite ERP and other systems
  • Manage the monthly and quarterly close, including financial statement reviews
  • Manage day-to-day accounting matters, payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets and GL including journal entries, reconciliations, financial analyses and schedules
  • Maintain and update financial accounting policies for areas impacting financial reporting and related processes
  • Recommend solutions and requirements for new or enhancements to existing applications
  • Provide expertise on the treatment of accounting transactions and related financial reporting requirements
  • Interface with our external auditors in the planning and execution of annual audits including testing procedures/PBC deliverables
  • Manage compliance with external reporting requirements and support tax filings
  • Develop and maintain working relationships across all internal organizations
  • Lead and participate in special projects as necessary

About you and requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting; CPA preferred
  • 7 years of related work experience in accounting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and procedures in addition to US GAAP
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process with thorough understanding of all aspects of general ledger accounting
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Strong Excel and system/application skills such as Salesforce
  • Advanced NetSuite experience. Admin or Super User.
  • Experience with SaaS company metrics and KPIs
  • A customer focus: the ability to help internal stakeholders articulate their needs and generate outputs that will drive business decisions
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the desire to foster relationships, communicate complex ideas in a way that resonates with your audience, and build alignment behind outcomes-based solutions
  • Startup and high growth company experience strongly preferred.
  • A determination to produce quality work product to tight reporting time frames.
  • Operates at the highest level of professionalism and personal integrity.
