About You:

We are looking for a hands-on Accounting Manager to join our global Accounting team, based in Palo Alto CA. This person will ensure proper accounting of transactions and timely reconciliations that form part of the monthly close accounting cycle and financial statements in accordance with US GAAP.  This person will work cross-functionally with other departments in the organization. You will also manage 1-2 team members.

What You’ll do:

• Manage accounts payable, prepare accruals (working with department heads), ensure proper classification of accounting entries
• Lead a small remote team to achieve accounting close schedule 
• Prepare detailed and well supported journal entries, account reconciliations that form part of monthly close accounting cycle and financial statements in accordance with US GAAP
• Verify, allocate, post and reconcile transactions
• Support in preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
• Produce error-free accounting reports and present their results
• Analyze financial information and financial status
• Prepare and provide support for the preparation of audit schedules for external audit
• Be integral to the month-end and year-end close process
• Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Ensure compliance with internal control policies

Must Haves:

• Active CPA with 3 + years of experience in accounting, financial and analytical roles. 
• 2+ years’ experience managing a remote or global team 
• Background in Public Accounting, InsurTech, FinTech, SaaS, Financial Services or Insurance. Big 4 a plus.
• Comprehensive knowledge and experience with general accounting, month-end close procedures, eliminations and consolidations, controls, internal reporting & analytics, and working with external auditors
• Good knowledge of US GAAP; conceptual and practical experience in researching, understanding and communicating technical accounting issues and conclusions
• Strong project management skills, attention to detail, accuracy, ability to work independently and multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines and be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
• Excellent Excel/spreadsheet skills, competency with MSWord and PowerPoint
• Good knowledge of NetSuite.
