The Accounting Manager will be a key member of the team who owns the corporate accounting function. The candidate must have experience in managing teams, be detail oriented and strategically minded, have strong organization and communication skills, exhibit resourcefulness akin to early-stage / growth companies, and be hands-on. This person is process driven and supportive, who enjoys working in a fast-paced, high growth environment. The role will report into the Director of Accounting and will work closely with several cross-functional teams.

What you will be doing:

  • Manage month and quarter end close activities, including review of journal entries, detail and summary level analysis of impacts to the balance sheet and income statement, balance sheet account reconciliations, and reporting schedules ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Oversee vendor management and accounts payable cycle ensuring expenses are recorded properly and vendors are paid in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate processing of semi-monthly payroll and filing of quarterly/annual payroll forms.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to reduce manual payroll accounting processes.
  • Work directly with auditors and tax consultants to coordinate procedures and deliverables for quarterly reviews, annual audit, and tax filings.
  • Responsible for supervising, training, and mentoring individuals within the accounting team.
  • Assist Director of Accounting on various ad hoc reporting projects and requests.

What would set you up for success:

  • 5-8 years of relevant accounting experience, startup experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA preferred
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP
  • Demonstrate ability to be proactive, analytical, and use critical and strategic thinking to solve complex problems
  • Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong proficiency with Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
  • Experience with NetSuite preferred
