ROLE OVERVIEW
We are looking for an Accounts Receivable Specialist who will serve as the second member of the Accounts Receivable team to create and implement synergies, best practices, and efficiencies to streamline the Order to Cash process: order management, invoicing, collection, and recording payment. We are looking for an individual with an accounting degree and strong understanding of GAAP. WHAT YOU WILL WORK ON
- Serve as the second member of the Accounts Receivable team to perform the full cycle accounts receivable function. Work as a team to create and implement synergies, best practices and efficiencies to streamline OTC function.
- Maintain master customer and contract files and documents. Review sales order forms and related legal documents (e.g. MSA, PO) for key terms affecting billing and collection, and to identify and communicate other financial, accounting, and legal implications.
- Advocate for, and adhere to, billing and collections best practices and policies.
- Coordinate with the Sales Ops department and Account Executives to validate data integrity within Salesforce against the contracts and tracking renewal and upsell opportunities.
- Update and maintain billing and collection forecasts and schedules. Attain all information pertaining to billing and manage the AR Aging report for daily billing and collection efforts.
- Be a primary point of contact for the AR team, internally and externally, to resolve any billing issues.
- Identify and post job-specific journal entries. Perform monthly reconciliations and analysis on accounts receivable and reserve for bad debt expenses as part of month/quarter/year-end financial close and reporting processes.
- Participate in “order to cash” process improvement design and execution following the company’s policies.
- Lead or assist in special projects as needed (e.g., audits, system implementation, etc.).
- Ensure that all activities related to this job position are accomplished in an ethical, prudent and secure manner.
ABOUT YOU
- BS/BA in Accounting or equivalent with solid understanding of GAAP.
- 1-2 years of experience in an Accounts Receivable role is preferred.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite with intermediate Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, if functions, pivot tables, etc., is strongly preferred.
- Working proficiency in NetSuite, Salesforce and Tesorio a plus.
