This position will be responsible for the accurate and timely monthly close of the consolidated financial statements, compliance with internal close and developing improvements to processes, and execution of a pre-IPO readiness plan. This position reports to the Corporate Controller.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the accurate and timely preparation of the monthly consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures
  • Lead IPO readiness - create an external reporting function in anticipation of an IPO including creating processes, controls and reporting guidelines that are in compliance with SEC standards; includes, but is not limited to, leading efforts in getting the Company SOX compliant, drafting S-1, coordinating mock press releases and quarterly investor calls, XBRL readiness
  • Ensure all entries are posted accurately and monthly reconciliations are prepared and reviewed
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close packages
  • Manage and mentor two rockstar accountants; ensuring they continuously grow and learn
  • Coordinate and manage audits, tax compliance, and other internal compliance
  • Improve existing internal controls to prevent inaccuracies in the financial statements
  • Improve existing processes with a view to a more efficient and accurate monthly close
  • Oversee the payroll, equity, expense reporting, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions
  • Coordinate with international accounting service providers with regard to payroll and monthly management accounts
  • Acts as treasurer, ensuring cash needs at corporate and subsidiaries are met
  • Ad hoc projects as needed

REQUIRED/PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • Proven experience as an Assistant Controller or other similar position, preferable in the technology field
  • Ability to roll up his/her sleeves and get into the weeds
  • Prior public accounting experience a preference
  • Pre-IPO experience or experience at a public company a plus
  • Solid knowledge of US GAAP and ability to write technical memos
  • Experience with international operations and multi-currency consolidations
  • Excellent knowledge of accounting and financial processes and tools (Netsuite a plus)
  • Advanced Excel skills required, including Vlookups, sumifs and Pivot Tables
  • Excellent and effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving skills as well as well-organized with an ability to prioritize appropriately
  • Tax background a plus

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training and expertise sufficient to perform the essential duties of the position
  • CPA is required
  • 8+ years of experience (combined public accounting and industry experience)
  • Public accounting experience a huge plus
  • Netsuite and Blackline experience a plus
  • System implementation experience a plus
  • M&A experience a plus
