The Accounting Team is seeking to add an additional Accountant to help maintain and streamline the Company’s financial reporting requirements. This role in Accounting will be an integral part of the Blend Finance Team. We are looking for an individual who is highly collaborative, demonstrates strong communication skills, is detail oriented, and thrives in a rapidly growing environment that can multitask and help develop world-class processes to support our financial statement close and related control procedures. 

How You'll Contribute:

  • Execute on month-end close preparing journal entries and account reconciliations for accrued liabilities, prepaid expenses, inter-departmental expense allocations, and capitalized software development costs
  • Prepare monthly flux analysis for areas of responsibility
  • Establishing, implement, maintain, and monitor accounting procedures and policies
  • Drive scaling accounting processes through system automation and refining existing processes and procedures
  • Support annual external audit function
  • Perform ad hoc projects as requested, which include technical account research 

Who You Are:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred) 
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in accounting (Big 4 or industry)
  • Strong Excel spreadsheet skills
  • Demonstrate ownership, problem-solving and analytical skills, combined with impeccable integrity
  • Ability to operate in a fast paced, rapidly evolving, highly transactional and data driven role
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills needed to interface and establish rapport with all levels of the organization
  • You are passionate about driving continuous improvement in yourself and within your function
  • You challenge the old ways of doing things and enjoy changing the status quo to optimize process
  • You are detailed oriented, possess effective project management skills, and a strong ownership mindset
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, FloQast, Expensify, and Airtable are a plus
