OVERVIEW

We are seeking a Director, Global Indirect Tax to lead the indirect tax function. We are seeking someone with strategic vision, driven by process improvement, and a focus on planning, risk and operational management of the indirect tax landscape. As a key partner to the business, you will drive the indirect tax strategy as the company launches new products, initiatives and country expansions. This role is highly cross-functional and success is dependent on the ability to build successful relationships within Tax and the broader company and requires a deep understanding of our products, business model and financial results.

ABOUT THE JOB

Responsible for all global indirect tax compliance, including evaluating financial, system and operational considerations for new compliance obligations
Oversight of global indirect tax audits and support the development of our audit program
Provide financial, risk and operational advice to management on new and proposed tax legislation impacting the company
Partner on the implementation of process and technology initiatives to support our contract arrangements, product implementations, compliance with tax legislation, and expansion outside the U.S.
Provide indirect tax advice and assess operational considerations related to new and existing products to the product team and management, and ensure taxes are accurately applied to our product offerings
Oversight of all indirect tax reporting for financial statement reporting and forecasting
Review and advise on customer and inter-company contracts from an indirect tax perspective
Work with outside providers on technical issues, compliance and audit matters related to our product offerings and new legislation
Build, mentor and support the expanding team of indirect tax professionals

ABOUT YOU

10+ years of indirect tax experience with deep understanding of indirect tax systems and laws
Relevant public accounting, law firm or industry experience
Experience with high volume eCommerce platform enterprises preferred
Ability to quickly understand and integrate business objectives with tax strategies, and effectively communicate tax requirements
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to convey complex technical tax topics in a non-technical manner and effectively work with other functions within the company
Experience managing a team that is a mix of professional staff and third party consultants
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong analytical, organizational, and presentation skills

Pride Month events (themed “Community: Connectedness in our now Virtual World”) included a fundraiser for nonprofit Rainbow Railroad, a Gin and Gender class, and guest speakers.

My involvement with the Rainbow Carrots ERG has given me the opportunity to influence the voice of LGBTQIA+ community on a corporate level and educate others in meaningful ways — providing a list of actionable items that speak to the difference between advocacy and allyship.
