Senior Finance Operations Analyst
About the role
We are seeking an Analyst to build out the FP&A function at Chime! As part of the Finance Team, you will identify, design, and deploy technology and process solutions that enable strategic initiatives and operational improvements. As a dedicated subset of the broader Accounting & Finance team, you will help drive forward initiatives to improve the quality of our financial data and efficiency of the accounting close and design system solutions to support Chime’s evolving business at scale. You will partner cross-functionally with critical areas of the business to lead the continued growth and optimization of our CPM system.
The ideal candidate is a system-savvy problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment and consistently exceeds expectations. This role requires proficiency in analyzing system requirements, solution design, and ongoing maintenance of our CPM system’s financial data. We are looking for an agile team player who enjoys working cross-functionally with different parts of the organization and has a solid foundational understanding of financial accounting and internal controls.
In this role, you can expect to
- Streamline the annual budgeting process and implement rolling forecasts to update budget assumptions periodically
- Empower business unit leaders with self-service management reporting
- Automate and accelerate the financial close process and month-end reporting
- Implement solutions to shift time from data collection to impactful analysis
- Support comprehensive finance & accounting transformations; Lead efforts in requirements gathering, user acceptance testing, and workflow developments
- Explore advanced digital technology and carry out an execution plan aimed to enhance finance agility
- Analyze organizational/functional data and interpret results to formulate & support key business insights
- Develop preliminary ROI rationale for Finance projects and measure post-project implementation results
- Collaborate and partner with internal stakeholders to ensure the design and functionality of our CPM (Adaptive Insights) is driving value and efficiency for the organization
- Provide data-driven insights to facilitate decision making and influence strategy with financial model building, reporting, process flow, and dashboard development
To thrive in this role, you have
- 3+ years of public accounting, corporate finance, business intelligence, or consulting experience
- A Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting
- Experience in a fast-paced company similar to a high-tech start-up
- A demonstrated history of solving multiple and complex operational and reporting challenges
- An understanding of customizations and business processes as they relate to NetSuite
- Proficient communication skills; proven ability to communicate effectively with internal and external business partners at various levels and to understand and express complex technical and accounting concepts
- Advanced Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills
- Adaptive Insights, Netsuite, Looker, SQL, Snowflake, Python, VBA experience
