The Commissions Analyst will be responsible for administrating compensation plans, accurate and timely calculation of payouts, responding to salesperson's questions, and various other finance-related projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the administration of compensation plans, including facilitating plans, monthly calculations, and review of commission outcomes
  • Calculate sales commissions according to sales compensation plans and policies, ensuring commission and bonus calculations are done accurately and in a timely manner through partnerships with sales, HR, and the finance team
  • Process commission month-end closing, including preparing commission accruals, payables, journal entries, complex reconciliations, and audit schedules
  • Liaison with the sales force for commission related questions and discrepancies; Research and resolved commission related inquiries from sales teams including booking disputes split between sales teams and regions, quota credit clarifications, etc.
  • Analyze and report commission expense outcome versus comp plan design and expectations, territory performance versus targets, and related performance metrics
  • Perform monthly and quarterly financial statements variance analysis related to commission income statement and balance sheet accounts
  • Ensure commission expense is recognized in accordance with revenue recognition and US GAAP guidelines
  • Other projects as necessary

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business or related fields; MBA and/or CPA is a PLUS
  • 5-7+ years of experience as a Commissions Analyst, Compensation Analyst, Financial Analyst, Sales Operations Analyst or similar role
  • 3+ years of experience calculating commissions calculations
  • Advanced Excel skills (i.e. high comfort level with consolidating and joining data, creating formulas, macro development, etc.)
  • Experience with Xactly, Sage Intacct, and Salesforce is desired
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify and explain complex financial information to stakeholders of all levels across multiple functions.
  • Ability to roll-up sleeves and get the job done while maintaining focus on the bigger picture
  • Proven track record of working with GTM executives
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to effectively work with departments throughout the organization in an open office setting with high growth, start-up mentality
  • Tact, diplomacy, and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality are critical
