Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting Manager

The role:

The ideal candidate will be highly proficient in IFRS and US GAAP accounting and reporting, including area of merge and acquisition transactions and stock-based compensation accounting. You'll work with our Corporate Accounting, FP&A, Treasury, Internal Audit, Investor Relation, and Corporate Development teams to provide accounting guidance where required - aiding in decision-making and new business initiatives to ensure SOX compliance. In this role, you'll get to:
- Act as accounting liaison on M&A transactions to cover accounting due diligence, purchase accounting and integration coordination.
- Research and evaluate the accounting treatment for business initiatives, conclude and document on accounting impacts in areas including strategic investments, convertible debt, hedging, software capitalization, etc.
- Own equity accounting including stock-based compensation, EPS calculation and statement of equity.
- Assist in quarterly and annual SEC reporting tasks including cashflow statement, business combination disclosure, debt disclosure, etc.
- Coordinate the compilation and audit of international statutory reporting. Maintain good documentation to ensure SOX compliance in all responsible areas.
- A highly productive self-starter who has a strong work ethic and an ability to adapt in a constantly evolving business that accompanies a high-growth environment.
- A passion to perform accounting research and draft position papers.
- Experience with share-based compensation accounting, as well as a good understanding of financial statements.
- A degree in Finance or Accounting and/or a CPA. 7+ years of work experience, preferably with a mix of public accounting and public company experience.
- Confidence in your ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
- The ability to effectively work cross-functionally through all levels of an organization, from peers through executives, as well as with external auditors and professional service provider.

This role will be a member of the Technical Accounting and Financial Reporting team at Atlassian. Our responsibilities include technical accounting for non-routine and high-risk areas except revenue and tax to ensure appropriate policies and procedures in place, financial reporting for SEC filings, UK filings and other international statutory reporting, and providing the business with the information to make critical decisions.
