Location: San Francisco, CA (Preferred) or New York, NY

Carbon Lighthouse is looking for a hands-on, resilient, and agile professional for our finance organization. This position ensures timely, accurate and comprehensive information for decision making, and plays a pivotal role in driving financial performance.

The position will be responsible for the financial budget and forecasting, scenario planning, business and financial modeling, capital investment analysis, risk analysis, M&A activities, annual operations planning, and long-term business planning. A successful candidate will be able to develop trusted relationships with key leaders across the organization and become the go-to for internal financial decision support. This role reports to the VP of Finance who is based in San Francisco, CA.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and direct the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and reporting for Carbon Lighthouse. Prepare budgets, forecasts, financial plans (operational and strategic), cash flow projections, and business forecasts.
  • Build performance management reports (Financial and Non-Financial Indicators).
  • Develop financial models, conduct benchmarking and process analysis.
  • Conduct business studies on past, future and comparative performance and develop forecast models.
  • Analyze past results, perform variance analysis, identify trends, and make recommendations for improvements. Identify trends, advise company and recommend actions based on sound evaluation 
  • Conduct customer/product pricing and profitability analysis
  • Work closely with the accounting team to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Evaluate financial performance by comparing and analyzing actual results with plans and forecasts
  • Guide cost analysis process by establishing and enforcing policies and procedures
  • Support capital budgeting and expenditure planning processes
  • Evaluate deals profitability and risk
  • Forecast cash flow to ensure funds availability
  • Deliver Project Finance reports

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of business finance experience. 
  • Experience in a startup or other fast-changing environment and in a quantitatively heavy role
  • Proven working experience as a financial analyst
  • BA in Business, Economics, Finance or Engineering. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively interact with Executive management and cross-functional teams
  • Ability to explain complex financial matters to a non-technical audience.
  • Ability to summarize and present information for decision making
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to consolidate data from multiple sources into a cohesive and comprehensive analytic.
  • Strategy and planning, an ability to think ahead and plan over a 12-24-month time span.
